Irbid, is the capital and largest city of the Irbid Governorate. It has the second largest metropolitan population in Jordan after Amman
Yermuk University was established in 1976 as a university supervised by both the state and the autonomous administration, in Irbid, which is a significant educational city. The university, which provides education in Arabic and English, has faculties of fine arts, sciences, medicine, engineering, agriculture and veterinary medicine.
Gaziantep and Irbid municipalities signed a Sister City Agreement on 10 April 2010.
IRBID - GAZIANTEP RELATIONS
Environmental and social issues have been extended within the scope of the project to Gaziantep (Turkey), Stuttgart (Germany), Paris (France), and Union of Municipalities of Marmara (Turkey), Amman Irbid (Jordan) and Aleppo (Syria), which are located in the European Union Pre-Accession Financial Assistance Region. A joint project was carried out to support the introduction of applicable approaches to energy efficiency in economic development and sustainable urban mobility plan development
The cities of Gaziantep and Irbid have met in many cultural areas. Especially in the field of Gastronomy, they exchanged experiences and supported each other in prominent festivals.
