SRİ LANKA-SABARAGAMUWA
Sabaragamuwa Province is one of the most significant cities of Sri Lanka. The provinces established in the 19th century were not granted any legal status. Upon the amendment made in the Constitution of Sri Lanka, the provincial council was constituted, thus these provinces gained legal status in 1987.
Sabaragamuwa is the first-level administrative division of the country. The total population of the province is 1,920,000. The Sabaragamuwa Province is divided into two districts, Ratnapura and Kegalle. Sabaragamuwa University is also located in this city.
Gaziantep and Sabaragamuwa Municipalities entered into the Sister City Protocol on May 28, 2013.
