IRAN - KERMANSHAH
Kermanshah is located in the center of Kermanshah Province which is in the west of Iran. The city is located 525 km away from the capital Tehran, and 120 km from the Iraqi border. The population of Kermanshah city is around 850,000.
The first settlement of the city dates back to prehistoric times, and was founded by the Sassanids. The city was named after the Governor IV of the Sassanids. It took the title of Behram, Kirman Shah. The city witnessed two years of wars with local Kurdish tribes during the reign of Ardashir I.
Gaziantep and Kirmanşah Municipalities signed the Sister City Agreement on 16 July 2011.
KERMANSHAH - GAZIANTEP RELATIONS
The city of Kermanshah is an active member of the "Asian Mayors Forum", various activities have been carried out with Gaziantep in various fields. Both cities have parks and green areas bearing the names of Kermanshah and Gaziantep in honor of the fraternity of the two cities.
Both cities have carried out various cultural and artistic activities together.
